Experience

Jonathan L.M. Shaw has extensive experience as a barrister, having been called to the English Bar (Gray’s Inn) in 1978. He began his legal career in commercial and company litigation, liquidations, and banking transactions in Birmingham Chambers. In 1986, he relocated to Hong Kong, where he commenced private practice at the Hong Kong Bar after a period prosecuting complex commercial crime in the Attorney General’s Chambers. His practice has focused on company and commercial law, with a strong emphasis on international tax, trusts, and succession planning for high net worth individuals. He has advised on the structuring of holding companies, offshore jurisdictions, international corporate tax planning, aircraft leases, tax treaties, profit jurisdictions, re-invoicing techniques, and company migration. He has served as Executive Director and Principal of Corporate & Chancery Group Limited since 1999.
